The Sanitation and Trash Division is responsible for bi-weekly, curbside refuse pickup of residential garbage throughout Ceredo. Pickups occur every Monday and Thursday, excluding Holidays. If a holiday occurs on a scheduled pickup day, the pickup will occur the next business day.

Important Information:

• Weekly garbage should not be set out for collection before 6 p.m. the night before it is to be collected.
• Brush or limbs should be tied in bundles not exceeding forty-eight (48) inches in length by eighteen (18) inches in diameter. The total brush bundle should not weigh more than seventy-five (75) pounds.
• It is unlawful to blow or sweep grass clippings, leaves, or other yard waste into the street as it clogs storm drains and contributes to flooding problems.

Items the Town of Ceredo will not collect:

• Needles, syringes, tires, car batteries, motor oil or petroleum products, offal, animal carcasses, sewage, or biohazardous material.
• Paint cans with liquid paint (if you put kitty litter or sand into cans to dry out, the town can dispose of them)
• Any appliances with refrigerant (such as refrigerators, air-conditioners, freezers, etc.) unless the compressor has been removed.
• Fuel/gas tanks (the only way the city can dispose of it is if the tank has been cut in half and cleaned out).
  **These items are regulated by the DEP/EPA and must be disposed of according to EPA guidelines.

Need a Special Pickup?

The Sanitation and Trash Division also handles pickups of nonresidential garbage. Depending on the items you are requesting to be picked up, including excess garbage, there may be a fee. Please submit a ticket here, and we will contact you with the cost.

Guidelines for a Special Pickup:

• Resident should request a Special Collection Pickup by submitting the form below or by calling Town Hall at (304) 453-1041.
• The City will assess the order and the resident will be contacted by the Town about the price of the pickup.
• Refuse/brush will be scheduled for pickup according to the normal collection schedule.
